You do not have to have passed the theory test to be able to learn to drive. We recommend doing both at the same time.

The theory test is in two parts.

The first part is a 50 question test where you have to get 43 questions right. This is done on a PC, you get 57 minutes to do this part of the test. It is fairly easy to pass but you will need to do some revision using these books, Highway code, Know your traffic signs, these two books are the minimum you will need. We would also recommend that you get a CD ROM called Driving test success, which contains the entire official DSA THEORY TEST QUESTION BANK for cars & motorcycles.

The second part is a HAZARD PERCEPTION TEST. Again this is done on a PC where you have to identify hazards that will make YOU react in some way while driving i.e., change direction or slow down. In this section there is 14 video clips. 13  with 1 scoring hazard and 1 with 2 hazards to find
